2021 Summer Camp - Whether exploring the past or designing the future, the summer enrichment experience at Saratoga Independent School is sure to engage and excite children ages 3 to 12 years old. Our morning program themes change from week to week with topics of all interests. Campers will spend time with a variety of teachers, including STEM, PE, and Art, all while experiencing theme-based exploration. Afternoon sessions are available if you would like to extend camp to a full day. The afternoon sessions will be multi-age and less structured than our morning sessions. We will offer water play, outdoor activities, and a variety of other opportunities for personal expression.
Although we are uncertain about how the summer will look, we are planning to offer our full Summer Camp. We follow the same COVID related health and safety measures that we have been following during the school year to keep all campers and teachers healthy. For more information on our health and safety measures, please visit our dedicated COVID-19 page.
2021 WEEKLY CAMP THEMES, for ages 3 - 9:
Imagination and creativity are key when designing architectural marvels! After an introduction to simple machines, children will have the opportunity to face a number of exciting build challenges. Whether you are a Lego enthusiast, or prefer a house of cards, come show us what you’ve got.
With a number of experiments on deck, young scientists are sure to love this week. From the water cycle to polymer concoctions, this week is bound to get a little messy, but all in the name of exploration and discovery.
At SIS, our motto has us “take care of ourselves, each other, our school and our community.” What does this mean to you? Through team building and group based projects, children will collaborate to find ways to spread kindness and develop leadership qualities wherever life takes them.
Is there anything more beautiful than a star filled sky? Let’s explore the night sky together! Combining science with folklore, we will travel into space, hear stories of constellations, and determine for ourselves if aliens really do exist.
Can we catch a tornado in a bottle? Recreate a tidal wave? Or even make it rain on a sunny day? This week is all about understanding how wild weather works and how humans have impacted our global climate.
This week we investigate beyond the three Rs and delve into alternative energies, upcycling and creating a more ecologically friendly home. Some gardening experiences will also complement this week’s theme.
Being a leader is more than just good communication and organizational skills. It means stretching yourself, facing challenges, and having a positive impact on your community and the issues you care about.
This full-day option for children 9-12 is an incredible opportunity to build teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skills. In the mornings, the campers will follow our weekly themes and volunteer in our day camp classrooms. Responsibilities may include running a PE game or setting up a craft station for preschoolers.
In the afternoon, each student will design an action plan for a cause that is close to his/her heart.
Children have raised money for animal shelters, food banks, and even beautified our school garden. Each plan is as unique as the person creating it. Guidance will be offered throughout to ensure the success of each project and the passion of the designer.
*A two-week commitment is encouraged, but not necessary. This program is full day only; 9am - 3pm.
Our teachers are fully committed to providing a nurturing, respectful, and exciting summer for your child. Make this a summer to remember at Saratoga Independent School.
