2022 Summer Camp - Whether exploring the past or designing the future, the summer enrichment experience at Saratoga Independent School is sure to engage and excite children ages 3 to 12 years old.  Our morning program themes change from week to week with topics of all interests.  Campers will spend time with a variety of teachers, including STEM, PE, and Art, all while experiencing theme-based exploration.  Afternoon sessions are available if you would like to extend camp to a full day.  The afternoon sessions will be multi-age and less structured than our morning sessions.  We will offer water play, outdoor activities, and a variety of other opportunities for personal expression.

We follow the same COVID related health and safety measures that we have been following during the school year to keep all campers and teachers healthy.

2022 WEEKLY CAMP THEMES, for ages 3 - 9:

Help us make the summer of 2022 one to remember!  From cooking to chemistry, one of our weekly themes is sure to ignite the curiosity and creativity of your camper!
July 5-8  Farm to Table (4 Days)
With the help of a few local farms, children will have the opportunity to taste and cook with locally grown ingredients.  Cookbooks and recipe cards will be created and some basic gardening skills will be introduced.   It will be an appetizing week.
July 11-15  Health, History, Horses
Saratoga Springs is an amazing place to live and explore! Where else can one find artifacts from the Revolutionary War and reap the benefits of fresh, mineral-enriched water?  While the younger campers may learn about all Congress Park has to offer, the oldest children will be creating a tourist guide for the town.  Some at-home investigations may be involved!
July 18-22  Adirondack Life
It can be easy to take for granted the beauty of the world around us.  The children this week will learn about the animals, plants and natural wonders that make the Adirondacks such a spectacular place to live and explore.  Animal tracking, hiking, and survival skills will also play an important role in building a relationship with the natural world this week.
July 25-29  STEAM in the Kitchen
We aren’t just boiling water for tea this week!  Ooey gooey experiments and chemistry lessons will fill this week with science, technology, engineering, art, and math using materials and ingredients found in the typical pantry.  Dress for mess and expect to be amazed!
August 1-5  Mischief and Mystery
What is always in front of you, but can never be seen?... The future!  We may not be able to tell the future, but one thing is for sure, this week will be filled with suspense, riddles, and teamwork.   Scavenger hunts and mystery rooms are sure to delight the most curious of detectives.
August 8-12  Characters Welcome
So many books, so little time!  This week’s focus will tap into the creative minds of all.  Favorite book characters will be in the spotlight with our younger friends.  Paper making, book binding, and even graphic novel writing will be “on the table” for our upper campers as they delve a little deeper into the creative process.

Being a leader is more than just good communication and organizational skills.  It means stretching yourself, facing challenges, and having a positive impact on your community and the issues you care about.

This full-day option for children 9-12 is an incredible opportunity to build teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skills.   In the mornings, the campers will follow our weekly themes and volunteer in our day camp classrooms.  Responsibilities may include running a PE game or setting up a craft station for preschoolers.

In the afternoon, each student will design an action plan for a cause that is close to his/her heart.

Children have raised money for animal shelters, food banks, and even beautified our school garden.  Each plan is as unique as the person creating it.   Guidance will be offered throughout  to ensure the success of each project and the passion of the designer.

*A two-week commitment is encouraged, but not necessary.  This program is full day only; 9am - 3pm.
