Saratoga Independent School is committed to serving students from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds and helping to support as many eligible families as possible with Financial Assistance.
The Financial Aid Process
Our Financial Aid program is open to families with children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our aim is to serve the families most in need among the families who apply for aid in a given year. Financial aid is not guaranteed; each family is expected to use all resources available to them in paying for tuition. The amount each family receives varies considerably depending on a family’s financial circumstances. Awards are based on both demonstrated need and availability of funds.
If you received an award in a previous year, we will make every effort to award a similar amount in subsequent years, if demonstrated need continues, the student remains in good standing, and funds are available. However, applications for financial aid must be submitted annually, and aid is not guaranteed.
SIS uses FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment to conduct a financial need analysis to determine a family’s financial need. FACTS provides an objective methodology for calculating a family’s ability to contribute to educational expenses. Financial need is defined as the difference between the cost of education and the expected family contribution, which is determined by considering family income, assets, family size, indebtedness, and necessary expenses.
Preference is given first to returning families whose completed applications are received by the March 1st deadline. Once FACTS has made a needs-assessment recommendation, completed applications are reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee. Awards are allocated on a first come-first served basis. Awards for new students are made on a rolling basis after a student has been admitted and continue as the budget permits. Award notifications are sent out beginning on April 1st and thereafter until all decisions have been made.
How To Apply
All families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. You must fill out a new application even if you applied in the previous year. FACTS charges a fee that you will be asked to submit with your application. This fee is currently $35.
New Families may apply for Financial Aid after an admission application has been submitted. Apply for Aid online at: FACTS Management Select Parent Log-in in the upper right-hand corner, and then Payment Plans/Financial Aid.
The 2023/24 deadline to apply for Financial Aid is March 1st. Apply online through ParentsWeb. Click on Financial Aid on the left-hand menu, then click Apply for Grant & Aid. If you applied last year, you will not need to create a new account. If you did not apply for aid last year, you can create a new account.
The following information must be uploaded to FACTS to complete the application process. The Financial Aid Committee will only review completed applications once all supporting documentation has been received. All supporting documentation can be uploaded in PDF format online. Documentation can also be faxed to 866-315-9264. Please be sure to include your applicant ID on all faxed or mailed correspondence.
