Getting to Know Us
Before submitting an application, we recommend that parents/guardians who are new to the school attend an Open House and/or arrange for a tour of the school while classes are in session. We want you to feel confident that the philosophy and culture of Saratoga Independent School are an appropriate match for your child and family. Please call 518-583-0841 for scheduling or to ask any questions.
For a spot in the K-6 or Pre-K class for the next school year, we request that applications are submitted by February 13th. If you anticipate needing additional time, or if you are applying for admission mid-year, please contact the school office. Late applications will be accepted depending on availability. A $100 non-refundable registration fee is due with the application.
After receipt of your completed application, a Saratoga Independent School staff member will contact you to arrange for copies of prior school records (if applicable), to set up a time for your child to visit the school, and to schedule a follow-up discussion with a school administrator and/or teacher. We invite children entering K-6 to visit the school for a day and children entering Pre-K to enjoy one-on-one time with the teachers in the classroom for a shorter period. Visits are scheduled in order of receipt of application. In some cases a return visit may be requested or a conditional enrollment put in place.

Acceptance and Enrollment
Acceptance letters and contracts for the next school year are sent to new applicants after March 15th. Openings are made available to our returning families first. A $500 non-refundable deposit (applied to tuition) and the completed contract are due April 2nd.
For Pre-K students, morning and afternoon classes are formed to ensure a balance of genders, ages and personalities within the class. Every effort is made to accommodate parents’ preferences regarding the class selection. Class placement is determined in early May.
