School HistoryEighteen years ago, a group of local parents came together in pursuit of a dream. They wanted to provide the best educational foundation for their children and decided to found their own kindergarten school. Since then, the Saratoga Independent School has added a pre-K program for 3-4 year olds, Grades 1-6, and with plans for adding Grades 7-8 in the near future. From the beginning, the School has been Chartered by the State of New York as a not-for-profit entity, governed by a Board of Trustees comprised primarily of parents and local community residents with a strong interest in elementary education. The School has always operated in rented quarters of limited capacity and remains a small multi-age achool with average annual enrollment of 40 students. The Strategic Plan adopted by the Board of Trustees calls for an increase in enrollment to 100 students on the new Anderson Campus. |
