FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT
THE SARATOGA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ANNUAL CAMPAIGN
What is the Saratoga Independent School Annual Campaign?
The Saratoga Independent School Annual Campaign is our annual giving drive. The money raised each fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) directly supports our school’s day to day operations and academic program. Saratoga Independent School is an independent school and as such, the education of every student is made possible by tuition and philanthropy.
Where does my gift to the Annual Campaign go?
Your gift directly supports the Saratoga Independent School student experience. The Annual Campaign provides “unrestricted” or flexible dollars for current use during the year, and is used to support areas of immediate need or opportunity as determined by the Director of School and the Board of Trustees. Examples include academic initiatives and enhancements, tuition assistance, library resources, technology upgrades, arts and athletic supplies, academic building and grounds maintenance, and extracurricular and community service activities.
Why is participation important?
Because the Annual Campaign helps support the yearly operating budget, Saratoga Independent School depends on everyone to participate every year. Your participation sends a powerful message of your belief in the School’s mission. A high percentage of participation is just as crucial as the actual dollars raised. Also, foundations often review participation rates when considering awarding grants to Saratoga Independent School.
We are a small community with 106 donors to last year’s Fund, which means that when you make a gift to Saratoga Independent School, its impact is immediate and significant!
As a private independent school, Saratoga Independent School receives minimal financial support from city, county or state governments for operating. Funds come from tuition and donations from our school family and community.
Who participates in the Annual Campaign?
EVERYONE! Saratoga Independent School relies on the generosity of the entire school community including trustees, current and alumni parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and foundations.
What is the 2016-17 Annual Campaign goal?
Our goal this year is to raise $35,000. We would also like to grow the number of donors to at least 225 to celebrate the school’s 25th Anniversary year. To meet this year’s goal we will need you!
How does giving to the Saratoga Independent School Annual Campaign relate to our current building expansion project?
The Annual Campaign is a permanent, reoccurring fundraising effort that has a distinct purpose of supporting immediate school operating priorities and curriculum enhancements.
The Saratoga Independent School Board of Trustees is currently moving forward with the philanthropic inclination of our community and setting capital campaign fundraising goals in support of the building expansion project. When goals are finalized and initial major gift support is confirmed, the public phase of the capital campaign will be launched in coordination with our school’s 25th anniversary year. This capital campaign will comprehensively focus on fundraising for the next phase of the building expansion project.
In the 2016-17 academic year, the Saratoga Independent School “Raise Your Hand” Annual Campaign continues to remain a priority in ongoing fundraising focus.
How can I make my gift?
Tax-deductible gifts can be made by check, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), or online at www.siskids.org/how-to-give. We can also assist you in establishing a monthly or quarterly gift payment schedule.
Do you accept corporate matching gifts?
Yes! Many employers will match employees’ donations. This opportunity presents an additional source of income for Saratoga Independent School and an easy way to leverage your gift into a larger donation.
Typically, you can contact your employer’s office of Human Resource to find out if your employer has a matching gift program. If your company is eligible, please request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed with your gift to Pamela Howard, Director of Development.
