Extended Day Program
The Extended Day Program at the Saratoga Independent School is designed to provide the convenience of an on-site after care program that meets the child care needs of our families.
The purpose of the program is to provide a physically safe and emotionally secure environment where children can enjoy socialization, recreation, and intellectual stimulation. Parents may enroll their child on a regular basis or take advantage of our drop-in option for occasional care. The extended day program will also provide care for children whose parent is delayed in picking their child up at 3:00pm dismissal time.
Program Information
Hours: 3:00 - 5:30pm, Monday through Friday each day that school is in session. Extended day will not operate during school vacations & holidays, nor on days when school dismisses early due to teacher conferences or inclement weather.
Schedule and Activities: A snack will be provided daily. Children will play outdoors when weather permits. A sample of indoor activities include arts & crafts, board games, card games, computer time, science activities, etc.
Registration Fee: There will be a one-time, non-refundable $10.00 registration fee (per child) to enroll for all who plan to use this service, even if only on a part-time or drop-in basis.
Program Fees
Full-time Rate: For families who require Extended Day full time (5 days per week), the annual cost of the program is $1,200, which will be billed on a monthly basis ($120.00 per month).
Part-time/Drop-in Rate: For families who require Extended Day less than full time, the daily cost of the program is $8.00 which will be billed monthly on a per use basis.
Fee for late pick-up: Please remember that our program ends at 5:30pm. Parents will be charged a late fee of $1.00 per minute for pick-up after 5:35pm.
Drop-in Attendance
Requests for drop-in attendance may be made in person or by phone.
In person: Speak to a staff member and complete a "Request to Attend Extended Day" form. The staff member will note your request and inform the Extended Day staff.
By phone: Phone requests to attend Extended Day may be made before 2:30pm. Voice mail is checked for the last time at 2:40pm. Emergency requests made after 2:30pm should be verified by speaking directly to someone. Do not assume that a voice mail request made after 2:30pm has been received. Please speak directly to someone after 2:30pm.
