About SIS

Curriculum and Programs

This site is considered "under construction" as we prepare for the new SIS website. Please contact SIS for more information.

Consistent with NYS standards, the SIS curriculum is designed to further children's knowledge and skills in all developmental areas--intellectual, emotional, social, and physical. Children receive instruction in Art, Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish.

Lessons are taught on a 3-year cycle.

Student progress is evaluated through student work, teacher observation, and formal and informal skills assessment. Narrative reports and skills checklists replace traditional letter and number grades to reflect the complex nature of learning.
