The SIS Anderson CampusThe Anderson Campus is open! View panorama photos of the classrooms. Imagine a private elementary school for only 100 students located within the City of Saratoga Springs, yet surrounded with dense Adirondack forest and abundant wetlands for discovery, research, and play. The Saratoga Indpendent School has its own 60 acre wooded campus east of the downtown on Route 29, but still benefits from close proximity to the historic center of Saratoga. Students and teachers take advantage of all the opportunities and resources of the City, while also exploring the wonders of the natural world outside their schoolhouse door--a wonderful gift and opportunity for future generations of Saratoga children and parents! Knowing that the School's five-year lease was to expire in June 2003, the Board of Trustees began a search for a more permanent home in 2000. Thanks to the generosity of the Anderson family, SIS received a wonderful gift of 60 acres of land, located east on Route 29 within the City of Saratoga Springs, on which to build our new school. To be named The Gail and Willard T. Anderson Campus of the Saratoga Independent School, this unique parcel provides us with the opportunity to design and build our own facility and to finally realize the dream of our founding parents. Architectural renderings of the new building have been done. The building will be created in the Adirondack Great Camp style with a large atrium/library in the center and expansive classrooms with large, south-facing windows. There will be enough classroom to accommodate 100 students.
